Dan Carlin

“Pioneering podcaster Dan Carlin has been called the king of long-form audio content. With his Hardcore History shows sometimes stretching over six hours long, Carlin humanizes the past and forces the audience to “walk a mile in that other guy’s historical moccasins.” Hardcore History has been downloaded over 100 million times. Carlin began podcasting in 2005.” ~ The End is Always Near: Apocalyptic Moments, from the Bronze Age collapse to Nuclear Near Misses

Dan Carlin Interview Episodes

Dan Carlin - My Perspective

I first found Dan Carlin on this Tim Ferriss Show episode.  Tim gushed over how good of a storyteller he was, and even though he built him up like nobody’s business, it still doesn’t describe how masterful Dan’s storytelling skills are.  I decided to check out an episode of Hardcore History for myself.  The first one I checked out was called King of Kings (Episode 56), which was perfect, because that’s my old football number.  It was listening to this episode where I experienced my first driveway moment (listen to the interview for more) and I was hooked for life.  Dan is one of my biggest podcasting heroes, so bringing him on episode 100 was a big “W” for me.  I hope you enjoy listening to him craft a story as much as I do, and if you are at all interested in history (mostly military,) I highly recommend you check out his show.  Here’s the Dan Carlin website.
