About The Show

The Football History Dude is a show dedicated to teaching NFL fans about the rich history of the game we all know and love.  I’m your host, Arnie Chapman, and I’m just a regular dude that loves football and is a nerd when it comes to learning about history.  I created this show to share the wisdom I gain from researching various topics about the history of the National Football League.  Each episode I welcome you to climb aboard my Delorian to travel back in time to explore the yesteryear of the gridiron, and yes, that’s a reference to Back to the Future.  If you love football, history, and a little sprinkle of humor from the land of the dorks; then I believe this show is for you.

This is the sidekick to the show.  The site is set up to complement your experience of the podcast.  That’s “Gramps” on the left and me on the right.  Every call between us starts with “Are you ready for some football?”…..even in the summer.  Legend (in my family at least) has it Gramps invented the word dude, and he is the reason my family is so much into football.  I’m naturally curious about our past and big into time travel.  Thus, I created The Football History Dude podcast, a show dedicated to teaching the average football fan about the rich history of the NFL.

Resources I Use To Create The Show

Podcast Websites (affiliate link) - This is the hosting service I use for The Football History Dude.  They take care of everything.  I have no experience in web design, nor did I have any clue how to do the whole podcast thing.  The team helped me take care of everything, and it even comes with a very valuable Success Acadamy and community full of people willing to help you along the way.

School of Podcasting (afilliate link) - This is the dude I learned most of my podcasting from's website.  Dave Jackson is a hall of fame podcaster that has been teaching people how to podcast since 2005.  I highly recommend you check out his podcast as a start to see how he is incredible at teaching you about any topic.  You have options tailored to your needs.  He provides topic specific courses, monthly/yearly memberships, and even 1-on-1 mentorship programs.  Check it out.

These 4 items are the equipment I use for the podcast.  You can get it all on Amazon (affiliate links) at no extra charge to you.

Intro/Outro Music - This is not an afilliate link, but I was totally pleased with the level of service and the quality of the product.  I posted a gig on Fivver (afilliate link) on found PodcastPolisher.  He made me a totally custom intro and outro, and then I went back to get another.  If you are looking for a reasonable option for your intro/outro, and especially if you want to make sure it's only yours, I recommend heading to the Pod Polisher.  He has many more options than just the intro/outro.

Podcast Artwork (afilliate link) - I found this on Fivver, and just about everyone I talked to was so surprised how well it turned out for being a Fivver gig.  The artist did an awesome job at capturing the essence I was looking for.  All I did was give a brief description, a few pictures, and then he came back with the picture below.  Let's just say I was thrilled.
